Originally designed for location recording, the Sennheiser 416's "Cut Through" has been its trademark on VoiceOver recordings and made it the "Go To Mic" for many years. However, it's pricepoint has put it out of reach for some home studio owners and Podcasters.
Enter the Rode NTG 5 a mic which is clearly based on it's Sennheiser rival, but at a price that is much easier on the Pocket. But does it Stack up? And is it as useful for the location sound guy as the studio owner?
